How do I upgrade my MS Access database to MS SQL?
Before initiating the process, we highly recommend you to backup your MS Access database.
Here are five simple steps to upgrade your MS Access database to MS SQL.
- Run the Link Demon setup script.
- When requested, select MS SQL as your database and continue the setup process until the required steps are over.
- Make sure that Link Demon installation is now working with MS SQL.
- Use the MS SQL DTS Import/ Export Wizard to import your MS Access database to your newly setup MS SQL database. The only trick is that when you get to the screen where you select the tables that you wish to import, make sure that you click TRANSFORM and select:
- Delete Rows in Destination Table; and
- Enable identity Insert.
- Your system has been upgraded. Test your system to ensure that the upgrade has been done successfully.
