1. What do you make out of this error:
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0131' Disallowed Parent Path

Answer: This error occurs because your server has been "locked down". This precautionary measure has been taken because of security reasons. Allowing the use of "../" in an include statement can make the process vulnerable.

To solve the problem, you need to alter all include file statements. Change all:

2. How do I have my FingerTips users access their sites' via the URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/username/ but have the actual users' files stored at the URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/finertips/users/username/
Answer: You can do the trick by using a custom error 404 file. We have included a sample file for your use if you need. You need to contact your hosting provider to have them map 404 errors to this 404b.asp file.

3. How do I develop my own Template Pages and make them available to my users?
Answer: To add a new template is simple. All you need is a template and an image file sample. You can develop your own template by using standard HTML. Any reference to images should be done in the form of <image scr="***images/image.jpg"> where image.jpg is the name of your image file.

Now you have your plate, add a new folder to your ./pagetemplates/ directory e.g. mytemplate. Inside the new directory, mytemplate, add a template, add a directory called images. Place all your image files inside the images directory. Now add your new template to the mytemplate directory and call it "index" without an extension. You will also need to add a gif file called "gifpre.gif" that will act as your preview sample.

4. How do I force FingerTips to use a specific email component?
Answer: At the beginning of line 60 of the file ./include/email.asp you will see:

To make the system use a specific component, simply remove the ' at the beginning of the line that lists the component that you wish to use.

5. How do I force FingerTips to use a specific upload component?
Answer: Beginning at line 65 of the file ./includes/setup.asp you will see:

'UploadCOM = "ASPSmartUpload"

'UploadCOM = "SAFileUp"
'UploadCOM = "ComLess"

You can make the system use a specific component by simply removing the ' at the beginning of the line that lists the component that you wish to use.
